About us

Who we are

Members of the club are men and women who want to help to improve our community. We meet together October through May (excluding January) for an informative luncheon where we can strategize the best way to help our community. We also have other fundraising events throughout our club season.

The Howey-in-the-Hills Civic & Garden Club, also know as the Howey Garden & Civic Club, was first organized in 1951. Our club’s purpose is to foster civic unity, public cooperation and welfare of our local community through club philanthropy and to stimulate knowledge for love of gardening through education and information concerning native plants and wildlife. In addition, our club will provide donations of food, needed items/supplies and monetary donations to local charities and assistance to community beautification projects, education, health, recreational programs, and the town’s library and cemetery.
